About this preschool

Gracie's Place Preschool is a preschool located inside the Dougherty Valley Community Center in San Ramon, CA, founded and directed by Denise Platts. The school focuses on learning through play while developing social, emotional, motor, and academic skills.

Philosophy
Gracie's Place philosophy is based on the knowledge that children learn through play. The primary goal is to instill the joy of learning, encourage self confidence, independence and the ability to work and play together as a class. The school offers a warm and welcoming environment that encourages the development of social/emotional skills and a positive self image. Children participate in activities that promote fine and large motor skills, large and small group time and individual learning times. Each week children learn a new letter of the week through circle time, art projects, and books. The curriculum includes learning colors, shapes, letters, numbers, and name recognition, as well as developing fine motor skills through tracing and cutting, and social skills through taking turns and sharing.
