About this preschool

Edwin & Margaret Lee Tung Lok Early Childhood Learning Center is a licensed preschool serving infants through pre-K in San Francisco's Chinatown. The center prioritizes building strong emotional bonds between children, families, and peers in a safe, nurturing environment.

Philosophy
Our primary focus is to create and strengthen emotional bonds between children and families. We believe children need to feel emotionally and physically safe in their environment to reach their highest potential. Children develop at different rates, and we incorporate developmentally appropriate activities focusing on social-emotional, physical health, language and literacy, and cognitive development. We believe children learn best through fun and exploration with opportunities to investigate and problem-solve. Our approaches include Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP), Program for Infant-Toddler Caregivers (PITC), Creative Curriculum, and elements inspired by Reggio Emilia, implemented through play both indoors and outdoors.
