About this preschool

Davis Waldorf Preschool is a play-based, structured, and developmentally appropriate program for children between ages two and a half and four years. The program helps children develop social and emotional skills, resiliency, and physical independence through imitation, domestic tasks, free play, and teacher-led activities.

Philosophy
Inspired by Waldorf education, the program strives to help children develop social and emotional skills, resiliency, and physical independence through imitation, domestic tasks, free play, and teacher-led activities. A balanced routine gives children security from which to explore freely and confidently. Teachers follow the rhythm of the year experienced in nature and weave daily and weekly rhythms around seasonal themes.

Outdoor
Children spend time in a preschool garden where they run, climb, build forts, and experience seasons in all weather. Regular excursions provide fresh air and outdoor exploration in the grade school field and nearby Davis greenbelt.
